- Sleeping through the night: This happens a lot to athletes (and people in general) who drink too much plain water. Without sodium, your kidneys detect an excess of useless fluid and refuse to retain it. The result is that you wake up constantly during the night to go to the bathroom. With the right salt, your body retains the necessary fluid, and you achieve deep, uninterrupted sleep.
- The fake afternoon “slump” (Brain Fog): Many people experience fatigue, brain fog, or sugar cravings mid-afternoon and think they need a coffee or sugar. Often, it’s just your brain screaming for electrical conductivity (salt).
